The Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport (KGI) has been in its current location since 1992 and with significant expansion projects being commenced, it is truly the Gateway to the Goldfields. As we continue to welcome our increasing passengers, KGI Airport is determined to serve the people by connecting families and friends to remote communities and strengthening culture and social bonds.
Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport is one of the busiest regional airports in Australia. The Airport has the enhanced status of an alternative airport for domestic and can handle a variety of narrow and wide-bodied aircrafts.
Management
The ownership and operational responsibility of KGI Airport was transferred to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder (City) in 1989. KGI Airport is a crucial stakeholder in ensuring the economic growth and success of the region. A vibrant new Master Plan is being prepared articulating the plans for growth and changes to the airport. The City is committed to investing in route development to ensure it remains a key gateway to the region.
